You know you're a Medical Student when...
- You take forever explaining to people how long you'll be in school for, and realise you’ll get a medical doctor title the same time your friend gets a PhD doctor title.
memang lama kot blaja sebab some of my friends, tak lama lagi dah nak grad..and i'm still in first year..
- You contemplate anything between dropping out and suicide after you finish each exam, even before knowing the results.
huhu..memang sakit jiwa pun..patutlah ramai je orang india ni committed suicide..
- You get depressed and emotional just thinking about how bad a doctor you’ll become in a few years.
true~ because i want to give the best to society plus it's an amanah..
- You answer every question with, “Hmm (pretending to think for a second), I don’t know.” And you know the most correct answer is, “It depends, sir.”
most of the time memang jawab "I DON'T KNOW" masa viva..=D
- You diagnose every single abnormality on yourself/family/friends as a life-threatening condition. You think the tiny haematoma on your finger is a risk for PE (Pulmonary Embolism).
belum sampai tahap tu lagi..tapi tak salah kan? (agaknya la..) so that kita akan value time that we might have with them..
- You watch House and ER, and think you can score in the exams and get through medical school. Wrong, only Dr.Wikipedia helps.
lama dah tak catch up House, Grey's Anatomy.. so, it's not applicable to me.. but my friend said,"tengok Grey's dekat-dekat nak exam buat aku tension je sebab tak faham term diorang cakap..terasa banyak gler tak baca untuk exam..*sigh*"
- You instantly feel that you want to bang your head against the wall whenever someone says “You’re a medical student? You must be very smart then!”, because it’s an unbearable accusation. (SO TRUE)
VERY VERY VERY TRUE INDEED~ i don't think there's such equation as medic student= pandai+rajin.. can i be the exception???
- Your friend/cousin zooms in front of you with his brand new car and treats you to lunch with his own paycheck and on top of that, talks about property and houses to buy. And you’re still struggling to buy second hand reference books.
being a doctor is not all about money..in fact, other professions are making money more than doctors..
- You have exams in a few days and when you try doing practice questions, you don’t know what to do with your pen besides underlining the key words in the question.
either tak boleh mencerna soalan atau terlampau banyak nak baca sampai tak boleh nak cover apa-apa..
- Conversations with people involve “So tell me what happened.”, “So how does that make you feel?”, and “I understand it must be very difficult for you.”
this reminds me of my friend when she want to buy an eyeliner and she asking all sort of stuff about it..then the salegirl said," awak ni budak medic eh?" errmmm......
- You have a peak moment in life when a senior says “good” or “well done”; it’s so relieving to know you’re not a complete drain on society.
hard work does pay, right? senior always gives houseman hard time..(this what i've heard)
- You’re completely socially retarded when you hang out with non-medics as you don't know what to talk about besides your miserable life as a medical student.
Oh tidak!!!! i'm not that bad.. though kadang-kadang social skills to cukup-cukup paras lulus je..
- A patient/doctor asks if you've done a procedure before (e.g. cannulation, suturing) and you say "Yes", without revealing the fact that the previous patients were plastic models.
does it consider as "practise makes perfect" ?? jangan pulak korang takut lepas ni.. we're just the beginners like everyone else.. =D
- You don’t understand why summer vacation is only one month, although summer itself is three months.
BETUL SANGAT!!! tak puas hati sebab cuti orang lain lagi lama dan lagi selalu daripada kitaorang ni..and when i said that, my friend will always said," memang betul la..but we're in medical schools dear.."
- You wash your hands after meals and the loo using the 6-step technique.
belum develop jadi germaphobic or super extra hygenic person..plus, x blaja lagi microbiology..*wink2*
- You can’t wait for weekends, so that you can catch up on your readings.
itu memang impian setiap minggu..tapi sudahnya akan end up tido sepanjang hari atau menghadap laptop, tengok cerita and surf internet..
- You have a list of pathologies that you don't mind dying from. Definitely not cancer though.
can't say anything yet because i've haven't started pathology classes yet.. have to wait till second year..
- You count the days till your next more-than-two-days-weekend break, which is at least 4 months away.
ni baru lepas dapat holiday, dah berangan nak dapat holiday lagi.. belajar pulak still tak bergerak padahal konon-kononnya nak start in May but now.. it's already 5th May..huaaaaaaaaaaaaa~~~
- "SOB" means short of breath to you.
huhu~ it still mean cry to me..with short of breath..ngee~
- You know the size of a RBC.
wajib tahu ni..karang kena marah ngan cikgu..err, is it 7.2 microns??? (sendiri pun tak ingat..=p)
- Your eyesight has worsened by 10 pts or more in the last year.
Alhamdulillah eyesight masih elok lagi..cuma kadang-kadang berilusi yang mata dah rabun..aiseyh~
- It doesn't matter how much you study, there is always so much more material to learn.
true~ the more you read, the more you realise that you know nothing..
- You are more familiar with last names such as Netter, Moore, Grant, Guyton, Robbins, etc than the last names of your classmates.
hahaha~ itu nama orang puteh..kitaorang pakai buku india jadi nama india la.. Chaurasia,Vasudevan,Jain,Sembulingam,Satyanarayana etc..
- You wonder when you'll have time to get married and start a family.
hmm.. i wonder when is that moment??? karang korang cakap aku gatal nak kawen.. i'm not gatal, ok!
- Right before exams, you have a hard time remembering why you want to be a doctor.
as far as i could remember, i don't really know why i want to be a doctor.. but somehow, i know that Allah takkan suka hati je nak campak aku ambik medic..He knows that i'm capable of doing it provided i work hard for it.. He must has bigger plan for me though i might not see it now..
- You don't have "backpain"; you have a somatic dysfunction on ....
semua benda mahu scientific...adeh~
- Getting a B is actually pretty darn good.
it's true though... and i would cause many nights of sleepless..(tapi aku tido je..=p)
- You often mumble to yourself, “F***! Am I supposed to know that?” as soon as you see or hear about some disease/symptom/sign that you completely have no clue about. Then you blame it on the medical school for not teaching you that.
it's maybe right but i'm not saying those 4 letters word.. either they never teach us or they had already teached us but we never pay attention.. lol~
nota kaki:
- here i am.. a journey to become a doctor.. a great one, i hope..
- masih bercinta dengan buku cerita.. Sophie Kinsella pulak tu..muahaha~
- masih berfikir kenapa YM asyik meng'off' diri sendiri..
- berkira-kira mempuat plan g Europe..berangan terlebih...=D
